Architects of society honoured on Teachers' Day

State level Teachers' Day has been celebrated at Bengali High School campus, Babupara, Imphal today.
The celebration was jointly organised by the Department of Education (Schools), State Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Society, State Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) Society, Higher and Technical Education, State Council for Educational Research and Training, Adult Education, Directorate of Language Planning and Implementation, Board of Secondary Education, Manipur under the Govt of Manipur.
As a part of the celebration, tributes were paid to the second President of India, Dr Radhakrishnan by lighting up candle and offering flowers at the portrait of the late President, led by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam.
A new building built within the Bengali High School Campus called 'Teachers Short Stay Facility' was also inaugurated on this auspicious day by Gaikhangam.

Honouring some of the notably exceptional teachers, the celebration also took time to confer 'State Teacher Award' to nine teachers whereas three others were conferred with 'Teacher Incentive Award'.
Dy CM Gaikhangam, Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungzathang Tonsing and Education Minister M Okendro presented the State Teachers' Award to K Jayenta Singh of Samusang Shatipur Pry School, L Nirmala Devi of Kiyamgei High Madrassa, Lalruat Ralsun of Parbung High School, NS Leishiwon of Ramlal Paul Hr Sec School, Ng Praneswari Devi of Nilapadma Hr Sec School, RK Krishnakumar Singh of INA memorial High School, S Binod Kumari Devi of Athokpam Jr High School, Th Manglemba Singh of Wangoi Jr High School and Y Mirabai Devi of Wangkhei High School.
This was followed by Higher and Technical Education Department distributing the State Incentive Award to Oliver Monsang OSD (Community College and RUSA), Associate Prof DM College of Sc Dr Md Rahejuddin Sheikh and Asstt Prof Churachandpur College, Pauchungnung Vaiphei.
Speaking as chief guest at the function, Dy CM Gaikhangam stated that, "the birthday of the second President of India, Dr Rk Radhakrishnan is celebrated all over India as Teachers Day to honour him and all the teachers.
"We shall try to have a bigger celebration next time.
The profession of a teacher is the highest of all.
There wouldn't be any problem in the society if the students are taught in the right manner.
Even Professors require to read and update their knowledge to impart the same to the students.
Advocates also, need to read and prepare themselves consistently.
Today the world know us for sports, it is time to show our identity in the field of education too", Gaikhangam stated.
Education Minister , M Okendro Singh in his presidential speech said that infrastructure has been a major problem in all Government schools and colleges.
Students should stay away from any kind of violence or agitation.
Any issue can be resolved through dialogue.
The department has been doing whatever it can to fulfil every need in all educational sectors.
In April , 2015 14th Finance Commission would be followed in the State.
Until then, the Government is keen to use the available fund at the optimal level.
Building of Teachers Short Stay facility was started in 2013 .
Today it has been inaugurated on this auspicious day and it would shelter and accommodate teachers from hill districts and others who come to work on their GPF and pension plan which takes atleast 4 to 5 days.
Moreover the teachers who have been neglected by their own family and children would also be accommodated in the facility.
He also mentioned that, considering everyone, only vegetarian foods would be availed in the facility.
The trust of the teacher community as well as the students upon the Government would not be betrayed, he added.
The dignitaries who attended the State Teachers' Day celebration were Health Minister Phungjathang Tonsing, Work Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar, Minister Francis Ngajokpa, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai, Minister Govindas Konthoujam, IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip, Agriculture Minister Abdul Nasir, MLAs, Principals Secretaries, department officials.
Many teachers and students also, attended the celebration.
As a part of the celebration, a musical programme was also performed.
National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Akampat also celebrated Teacher's Day today.
The occasion was attended by Kh Rajen Senior Technical Director and SIO,NIC Manipur as the chief guest, Th Prameshwor Director NIELIT Imphal as president, T Gunendra Singh, Academic Head and Y Subhaschandra Administration and Finance as the guests of honour.
During the celebration, students and teachers of the NIELIT paid floral tributes to Dr Savarpalli Radhakrishnan.
The day was also celebrated at Sagolband Popular Upper Primary School.
Teachers' Day of Rk Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Haotal (Pangei), Imphal has been celebrated at Asha Jina Complex, Imphal with former Chief Justice, Guwahati High Court and former Chairman of Assam Human Rights Commission Rk Manisana Singh and Dr Th Brajabidhu Singh as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.
Prizes were also distributed to the meritorious students during the function.
Sub-division also celebrated Teachers' Day in most of the schools of Jiribam like Jiribam Govt.Higher Secondary school, Kalinagar Govt.High school, Netaji Govt.High School, Borobekra and Highway English School et al.
During the teachers' day observation, students and teachers attended the live telecast of Prime Minister's Speech which was telecast from New Delhi.
