Referring to a news item published in The Times of India, national general secretary of BJP (i/c Manipur) Tapir Gao said the report has exposed the O Ibobi-led Congress Govt openly cheating the people of Manipur and the Nation.
Speaking to reporters at the Nityaipat Chuthek office of the State unit BJP today, Tapir highlighted that the report published in the said daily on October 31 mentioned that a sum of Rs 508.68 lakh was compensated by the Ministry of Home Affairs, GOI for Compensatory Afforestation Manage- ment and Planning Authority (CAMPA) to compensate the loss of forest in the Yain-gangpokpi Lokchao Wildlife Sanctuary.
"It is also learnt from a reliable source that some portion of the above compensa- tion amount had already been deposited to the State Forest Deptt from the MHA to take up afforestation and forest related activities/works in the State of Manipur," said the BJP leader while demanding clarification where such work had been taken up.
Strongly condemning the recent bomb blasts killing innocent public and contending that the incidents testified failure of intelligence network, he urged the Govt to take up necessary steps so that such unfortunate incidents do not recur in future.
about failure of delivery of basic amenities services, Tapir wryly remarked that it is the gift of the 12 and half years governance of O Ibobi led Congress Govt to the people of Manipur.
"It is a known fact that there is no governance in the State of Manipur as a result, people are suffering in all expects.
As such this Congress Government in Manipur is considered to be an anti-people" .
During the press conference, President BJP State Unit Th Chaoba Singh said Manipur's land cannot be handed over to Myanmar.
The Indo-Myanmar border fenced either by iron or wood should be removed, and the boundary issue be finalised.
