124th birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot widely observed across States

The 124th birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot was celebrated by various clubs, associations, groups/bodies in Manipur and other States.
Social service activities were also conducted extensively in connection to the day.
AIKL
A programme paying floral tribute to Lamyanba Hijam Irabot on his birth anniversay was held at Irabot road near BT road flyover today.
Organized by members of the Apunba Irabot Road Kanba Lup (AIKL), CPI Manipur State Council, members of CSOs like United Committee Manipur (UCM) led by Khuraijam Athouba Singh and Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL) led by its gen secy Ngamkheingkpa Luwang), awareness of the existence of Irabot road and its naming in 1980 was deliberated.
All Manipur Nupi Marup led but its president Th Sakhi Devi, Ima Keithel Semgat Sagatpa Lup secy L Mema Devi and people of the locality and surrounding areas attended the programme.

ICC
The Irawat Celebration Committee (ICC) Manipur organised a simple prize distribution programme at the Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Konung Mamang, in observance of the day.
Keirao
A function celebrating the 124th birth anniversary of Hijam Irawat, sponsored by L Angahal was held at the residence of Keirao AC MLA Rameshwor Meitei.
Meriotrious students of class XI and XII examinations were also felicitated and presented with cash awards.
Floral tributes to Irabot was also paid by the guests.
LINTPL
Lamyanba Irabot Ningshing Thouram Pangba Kanglup (SSUM, AMPSUM and SWA, Manipur) celebrated the 124th birth anniversary of Lamyanba Irabot at Thou Ground, Thangmeiband, today.
MPCC secretary, S Preshyojit Sharma; MPPDU president, N Meghachandra SWA Manipur convenor, S Bijayant and SSUM president Soraijam Yaima attended the programme as presidium members.
Altogether 56 students who won prizes in different competitions) arranged as part of the observance via online mode were encouraged.
Life Savers Manipur
Life Savers Manipur, Wangkhei Lourembam Leirak organised a voluntary blood donation camp along with the Advocate Leishangthem Roshmani Memorial Trust, Lions club of Imphal Greater, Sports Assn for Visually Impaired (SAVI) Manipur, Handicapped Foundation Manipur, State Blood Cell National Health Mission Manipur and Shija Blood Bank.
Dr S Ibungochouba Singh, Director State Blood Transfusion Council, Manipur; K Padma Kumar Sharma, Managing Director, Life Savers Manipur and GA Kiran Sharma, Secretary, Lions Club of Imphal Greater also attended the programme.
YIGP
124th Hijam Irabot birth anniversary cum prize distribution programme, organized by the Young Illiterate Guidance Programme Club (YIGP), was held today at the Konthoujam Maning Leikai playground.
The programme was graced by ex-MLA K Sarat Singh and YIGP club president K Mani Meitei as chief guest and president respectively.
Bishnupur
Irawat Day was also observed in various parts of Bishnupur district.
A mass social service was conducted by TYWC Thamnapokpi, elected members of Ngangkhalawai GP along with local bodies.
Moirang AC MLA P Sharatchandra inaugurated toilet block and distributed volleyball and uniforms as part of Irawat birth anniversary celebration.
In Phubala GP, NYDO organised a programme related to the day, attended by Phubala GP Pradhan N Ranjit, OC Moirang Police RK Anilkumar Singh and retd Headmaster Kh Nilamani Singh.
The Citizens Club Moirang Okshongbung Leikai of Moirang Municipal Council Ward no 11, led by its Councillor K Memthoi continued its social service work for the 4th consecutive day and cleared weeds and grass alongside the Tiddim road.
Youth Development Organization, Konjengbam Maning Leikai, Chengei Development Club, Shribon Youth Development Organisation also observed the day by conducting a cleaning drives of their respective localities and also lit candles in the evening.
Similar programmes including paying floral tributes were also held by the youths of Terakhongshangbi, PKSA, KYDC, NESDA, Bishnupur District BJP Committee, BJP Oinam Mandal, Lamyanba Hijam Irawat Celebration Committee Irengbam and the Nambol Makha Youth and Sports Development Club.

The Jananeta Irawat Memorial Trust (JIMET), Jiribam led by its lifetime president Dr Chandam Kamal Singh, offered floral tribute to the statue of Irawat at the Irawat Complex, Jiribam in observance of the 124th Hijam Irawat birth anniversary.
The programme was attended by Manipur Food Industry Corporation Ltd vice-Chairman K Saratkumar Singh and others.
A function celebrating the day, a one day seminar, museum exhibition opening, cultural programme and peotry recital, organised by the Barak Museum and Library Banatarapur was held at the museum in Cachar today.
United Rural Development Society president Mutum Babaton, Prof Waribam Raghumani, senior journalist Manindra Konsam and other notable persons attended the programme.
