Imphal, June 30 2015 :
The issue of Dzuko Valley got aggravated to the present volatile situation because of the State Government's failure to tackle it when it first broke out, said BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesman RK Shivchandra.
Speaking to media persons at their Nityaipat Chuthek office today, Shivchandra said that people of Nagaland encroached into Dzuko Valley because they knew that the incumbent Government of Manipur is inherently timid.
When trekkers of Manipur went to Dzuko valley in the past, they were forced to pay toll tax on the ground that the valley belongs to Nagaland.
But the Government of Manipur did not say anything.
This only emboldened people of Nagaland to encroach into the valley.
Inter-State boundary between Nagaland and Manipur was finalized in 1972 without any ambiguity but Nagaland has been repeatedly encroaching into the territory of Manipur.
It's time for the State Government to say 'enough is enough' .
When Mao people have come out boldly against the incursion, the State Government cannot remain silent.
Mao students ousted from Nagaland should be given admission in schools within the State under a special arrangement.
The State Government should also take up measures for transportation of Mao people and marketing their produces, Shivchandra demanded.
