Yamthong assures new lease of life for Saikul

First time elected MLA from Saikul assembly constituency Yamthong Haokip toured parts of his constituency today overseeing the road condition and meet the people of his constituency.
Driving down a bumpy and dusty road along with his supporters, Yamthong Haokip said Saikul constituency which has been neglected for so long will see a fresh lease of life soon.
The Saikul representative said he will not disappoint his people.
The stretch of road from Imphal to Saikul is a nightmare for the commuters as potholes and dust disrupt them.
If a vehicle runs before another one, the driver of the tailing vehicle is lost in the thick cloud of dust as the visibility becomes almost nil.
"During dry season, the bumpy road and dust have been the cause of concern and during rainy season different problems crop up," rues Lalboi Haokip, a resident of Saikul.
Speaking at Tuinamjang village in a programme, Yamthong Haokip said he will share the hardship of the people of his constituency of his people and put his maximum effort to address the problems.
After touring parts of his constituency in the first half of the day, Yamthong Haokip came to Saikul bazar and attended the closing ceremony of the 2nd Khanglai Meet, 2012 which was an open football tournament of the Kuki-Chin-Mizo.
Addressing the gatherings, the Saikul MLA expressed happiness say-ing in spite of the backwardness of the area, the people could organise a big sports meet as the 2nd Khanglai Meet, 2012 .
Besides contributing financial help and donating sports items to the organisers of the sports meet, Yamthong Haokip assured that he would fully endorse the organisers of Khanglai Meet in the coming years.
Also expresing his happiness for giving an opportunity to serve the Saikul constituency, Yamthong Haokip assured the mammoth gathering that he will not waste time in putting his effort and attention in order to bring all rounds development in the constituency.
"Kindly extend your co-operation to me, I will try my best to bring all rounds development in Saikul constituency," appeals Yamthong Haokip.
Also addressing the sports meet, Kuki Inpi, Saikul block president Thangkam Hangmi expressed his hope that if this type of sports meet is held often, many talented youngsters will have exposure.
He urged the organisers not to discourage in organising such events though hardships are on their way and effort.
