Imphal, January 31 2016:
Subsequent upon improvement in supply and distribution of LPG in the State, backlogs in terms of refill distribution which is a common experience of almost all LPG distributors of the State have been declining steadily.
In the meantime, IOC has been investing maximum efforts to reduce the backlogs to 21 days at the most and they are assisted by distributors and transporters in the same endeavour.
In line with the enhanced endeavour, 11934 refills were bottled at Sekmai Gas Bottling Plant yesterday.
According to information received from IOC's Imphal Divisional Retail Sales Office, State Level Coordinator, 11934 refills bottled on Saturday was the highest number of refills bottled at Sekmai bottling plant on a day since the plant was commissioned.
11016 refills or 36 truck loads of refills were bottled on January 18 and it was the largest volume of LPG bottled in a single day at Sekmai until the record was smashed yesterday by bottling 11934 refills or 39 truck loads.
Informing that the total volume of LPG bottled in a single day may rise further, the official attributed the bottling plant's achievement to active cooperation of LPG distributors and transporters.
Earlier, Sekmai LPG Bottling Plant was functioning in a sluggish or lethargic manner.
Sometimes unloading of LPG from bullet tankers was delayed or deferred because drivers were not present when IOC staff came for unloading and at other times, no truck was present when they were ready to supply refills to distributors.
But since some time back, IOC has taken up a slew of measures to rectify this inefficiency.
Subsequent upon rigorous efforts put in by IOC to reduce the backlogs to 21 days at the most, most LPG distributors have cleared bookings done in the month of December while a few others have started distributing refills to consumers who made their bookings this month.
LPG distributors which have started distributing refills against bookings done this month are K&K Indane, R&H, Canchi Indane Service and Khurkhul Heikham Indane Gramin Vitrak.
