State teacher Nilamani honoured

Imphal, December 30 2021:
Thiyam Nilamani Singh, a Hindi teacher at Khurai Popular High School, was recently awarded 'National Corona Warrior Award 2021' by the Global Corona Warrior Award Committee, India.
During the 1st and 2nd wave of Covid-19 pandemic, Nilamani visited many students and distributed face masks, hand sanitizers, study materials and kitchen items.
Apart from this, Nilamani had involved himself in vaccination, Covid testing, etc., as a frontline worker in association with volunteers of clubs and organisations.
He had also distributed necessary items to those in containment zones and donated his blood to save life during the difficult period.
In recognition of his noble deeds, he was honoured with the Global Corona Warrior Award by the Global Corona Warrior Award Committee, said a press release issued by Youth Organisation Sport Club, Khurai Konsam Leikai, Imphal East.
Nilamani is not only a Hindi teacher but also a life member of Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State branch and a vice-president of Tinseed Road Youth Sports and Cultural Association (TRYSCA) of his locality Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai, it added.
