CM shares thoughts on ST demand, AFSPA

Imphal, December 29 2021: Chief minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday released the Manipur Calendar and Diary 2022 published by Directorate of Information and Public Relations at CM Bungalow.

Replying to media queries during the programme on ST demand for Meitei/Meetei, CM N Biren clarified that the state government has no qualm on inclusion of Meitei/Meetei in ST list, but as Manipur is home to various communities, the government is looking into the matter for taking it in such a way that it does not hurt the interests of any community.

With regard to AFSPA, he stressed that the government is pressing the issue with the centre considering the right time, situation and reason.

The programme was also attended by IPR minister Th Biswajit Singh and TA&H minister Vungzagin Valte and DIPR director Heisnam Balkrishna among others.

It can be mentioned that the sale of the Calendar and Diary will start from January 5, 2022 at DIPR Complex, Nityaipat Chuthek.
