Demise of ex-MLA Th Bira condoled

Manipur Ex-MLA Welfare Association expressed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of former MLA Th Bira Singh, who breathed his last on August 27 at his native village Utlou in Bishnupur district.
He was 91.In a release, Association president Bd Behring informed that Th Bira Singh was elected to the 7th Manipur legislative assembly (2000-2002) and served as minister (revenue).
Before his entry into politics, he served as the education director for 15 years under the government of Manipur.
He was one among the many torch bearer for bringing quality education in the state and someone who was passionate about sports, art & culture, etc., the president recalled.
Stating that Th Bira will always be remembered as a gentle and kind hearted man who went the extra miles to extend help to the needy, the Bd Behring conveyed that to lose someone like him is a great lost for the people who loved him and for the state of Manipur as a whole.
The association extended a sum of Rs 50,000 to the bereaved family as a token of love and respect to the departed soul, added the release.
