Longmai villagers urge Govt to replace retired PHED staff

Noney, June 26 2021:
The villagers of Longmai have appealed to the Government to replace the retired staff of PHED as soon as possible considering the lack of manpower in Longmai.
It may be mentioned that a water reservoir at Longmai (Noney) Part-1, which was constructed under NLCPR, Augmentation of Water Supply Scheme 2005 has been in a pathetic condition for many years due to non-maintenance by the concerned authorities.
The said water reservoir have been catering to about two thousand households including the Longmai Noney Bazar area beside many Government office like PHC Noney, Electricity Office, District Police reserve line & SP Quarter, DFO Forest office, Soil Conservation office.
District Covid Care Centre Tengkonjang, Jadonang Memorial College Longmai-3 & 4 private Schools.
However, the present reservoir is too small for the existing large number of consumers.
In this regard, the people of Noney have appealed to the government to increase the capacity of the reservoir and to sanction all necessary funds & materials for smooth functioning of the District Water Sanitation Committee in order to provide potable and hygienic water to the people.
