Womenfolk protest deployment of central forces

Thoubal, December 23 2023: Reacting against the proposal to deploy central forces at the VDF outpost opened at Khangabok Palli under Khangabok part III, the womenfolk of the area staged a protest in front of the outpost, on Friday.

Objecting to the deployment of central force's, Khangabok Apunba Meira Paibi Lup president Moirangthem Tombi said that despite the office of SP Thoubal and 3rd IRB post located in Khangabok area in addition to the DC's office and other security posts, the proposal for stationing central forces at the VDF outpost is uncalled for.

Stating that memorandums have been submitted to Thoubal DC and SP demanding non-deployment of central forces in the village, Tombi said that no Kuki villages are located in the vicinity of Khangabok and there are no reports of unwanted incidents in relation with the present crisis in the state.

Therefore, no central forces should be deployed in the area.

Any untoward incident arising out of the attempt to deploy central forces in the area will be the sole responsibility of the state government, she cautioned.
