Senapati, December 22 2021:
Tobumai Youth and Students' Organisation (TYSO) celebrated its Golden Jubilee under the theme 'Shouldering our future' at Tobumei village community hall under Song Song block on Wednesday.
The programme was attended by PHE minister Losii Dikho as chief guest and ANSAM president Wanglar Monsang as guest of honour.
Mao Students' Union, SDSA, Makhrepadei Union leaders, village leaders and many other dignitaries were also present at the celebration.
Minister Losii Dikho unveiled the Golden Jubilee monolith, hoisted Jubilee Flag and released the souvenirs, while Tobumai women presented folk tunes.
The Golden Jubilee theme exposition was delivered by DBC Maram assistant professor Athili Kape.
The 50 years milestone programme also featured theme song by TYSO choir with TYSO president Jacob delivering the welcome address and MSU president Marikho O'Leriina sharing the greetings.
Speaking at the event, minister L Dikho encouraged the youth to be self-conscious and open minded towards the rapid changes in the world and focus on becoming successful not only in the professional fields and government jobs, but also in becoming self-employed and thus creating employment opportunities in the community.
He urged the youth to keep up the vision and efforts put in by the elders for uplifting the village.
"Little improvement is not enough as we are far lacking when compared with other villages.
It is high time to work towards overall development with righteousness and honesty," Dikho said.
He emphasised on the importance of prayers and connection with God in any endeavour and not to put down one another in jealousy, rather to support each other for becoming successful.
ANSAM president Wanglar Thiir-tung Monsang expressed happiness on the Golden Jubilee celebrations of TYSO and exhorted the youth to be ambassador of their own people.
"It is not enough to celebrate the 50 years, but it is also important to pursue the challenges and take one step ahead for one's future," he said.
