IEDUCO celebrates foundation day in Khurai

Imphal, January 22 2022: Imphal East District United Clubs' Organization (IEDUCO) celebrated its 16th foundation day at TRYSCA community hall, Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai on Saturday.

Speaking as chief guest of the event, AMUCO president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang called upon clubs and meira paibi groups to shoulder the responsibility for preventing poll related unwanted incidents.

Highlighting the occurrence of poll related violence in the state, Nando stressed the need to prevent such incidents instead of discussing after the incident occurred.

Club and meira paibi should judge and intervene in such incident so as to stop recurrence without the influence of anyone.

There is also the need to stop organising of feasting and luring the vulnerable voters with addictive substances by rich candidates and workers during election season, he said, while reminding that local clubs and meira paibi have always played vital role in making a united Manipur.

The foundation day celebration was also attended by IEDUCO president Dwi-jo Takhellambam, Poirei Apunba Leimarol Meira Paibi (PALEM) president Khaidem Punimashi, Kha Nongpok Apunba Meira Paibi Lup (KHAMPAL) president Laishram Romabati, IEDUCO ex-presidents Lairenlakpam Lemba, Ningthoujam Shyam-sunder and Kshetrimayum Rajen among others.
