Imphal, August 20 2021: Blessing ceremony commonly known as Yaipha Thouni Thouram of Shumang Leela play named 'Mei Eklaba Thamoi' based on the life of Olympic silver medallist Saikhom Mirabai Chanu has been performed Friday at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen.

The blessing ceremony was attended by Shumang Leela Council advisor Dr M Nara, DM University vice chancellor professor N Rajmuhon, sports promotion assistant director Leishangthem Anita Chanu and Padmashree Wareppa Naba as presidium members.

The play is being written by Shumang Leela playwright Ranjit Ningthouja and noted Shumang Leela artiste Sougrakpam Hemanta will be director of the play.

Main artistes of the play will be Iboyaima Khuman, Sougrakpam Hemanta, Laishram Tomba, Yumnam Aran, Yumnam Nilachandra, Athokpa m Santosh, Langthabal Robindro, Heramoti Thongram, Senjam Deepson, Oinam Aran and Jagdish Hijam.
