Chandel CSOs endorse War on Drugs campaign

Kpi, May 19 2022: Civil society organisations of Chandel district have declared their support and endorsement to the government's War on Drugs campaign.

The decision of Chandel CSOs to support and endorsed the War on Drugs campaign was taken in a meeting chaired by leaders of Kuki militant group, United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF), a signatory of the tripartite talk with the government, in the presence of representatives of Kuki Chiefs' Association Chandel, Kuki Women Human Rights Organisation Chandel, KSO Chandel, UZO Chandel, and Thadou Inpi Chandel.

The CSOs, during the meeting, unanimously declared to fully support and endorsed the state government s War on Drugs campaign in the district.

The CSOs also declared their commitment towards working sincerely for eliminating poppy cultivation in and around Chandel district and promote peaceful eco-friendly occupations as a source of livelihood in the future.
