Imphal, December 18 2024:
Rural United Clubs' Organisation (RUCO) on Wednesday unveiled a bust of village volunteer Jamesbond Ningombam, who was killed by Kuki narco-terrorists in Kadangband, at Mayanglangjing Bazar.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by AMUCO president Nando Luwang, RUCO president Khundrakpam Lokendro, Poirei Leimarol Apunba Manipur president Soraisam Memcha, AMWOVA president Yumkhaibam Kunjarani, members of Mayanglanjing ZP and representatives of various CSOs.
Speaking on the occasion, AMUCO president Nando Luwang opined that if true patriotic spirit was there, the conflict would have never happened in Manipur.
He continued that the Indian government is taking advantage of the misunderstand ings and disrespect among ourselves and thereby, waging proxy war to divide Manipur.
However, Jamesbond sacrificed his life trying to defend the land from Kuki militants, he added.
Stating that the people of Manipur have repeatedly made their stand clear against any attempt for any separate administration which would mean disintegration of Manipur; Nando, however, reiterated that if the leaders had been patriotic enough, Manipur would never be in a situation as experiencing at the juncture.
