Assam Rifles constructs, dedicates Art Gallery

Imphal, February 18 2025: Assam Rifles constructed and inaugurated the extension of the International Three Mothers Art Gallery at Thangapat Mapal, Palace Compound on Tuesday, under its civic action programme.

The inauguration function was attended by Imphal Municipal Council Ward No 19 caretaker councillor W Boy and others numbering over 50.According to PRO IGAR (S), the new extension, which includes an additional museum shed for visitors, aims to serve the growing interest and aspirations of the local community, and preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Manipur, while upholding the traditional values of the AR.

The Art Gallery is renowned for its unique collection of wood carvings and provides a deep insight into the region's rich artistic heritage.

The galleiy has already gained significant acclaim with its exhibits having been showcased at various prestigious platforms including the India International Trade Fair in New Delhi.

With the newly constructed extension, the gallery is set to further enhance its reputation as a key attraction for both local visitors and touristy, it said.

In a release the PRO emphasised that the construction of the extension reflects AR's continued commitment to goodwill and cultural engagement in the region.
