Imphal, August 17 2021: Republican Party of India (Athawale) State president Maheshwar Thounaojam has informed that the party has started preparation for the upcoming assembly election and will make its debut in the poll by fielding 7-8 candidates.

Speaking while activating a women's election commit tee for polling station 12 11 at Keishamthong Aheibam Leirak on Sunday, Maheshwar affirmed that the party is committed to ensure that Manipur is developed at par with other states.

Though the party mainly comprises young members it will work to accelerate the development of the state, he said and stressed that the youth of the state need to play a major role in making Manipur a vibrant state through effective tapping of potential of the youthful energy.

Maheshwar further stated that he respects the role of women in Manipuri society and the party will contest the next election under their guidance.
