Imphal, January 15 2022: In view of the upcoming state assembly election and Republic Day celebration, Manipur police beefed up security measures along with conducting search operations at several places.

According to police report, a team of Imphal West district commando led by DSP Md Riyajuddin conducted search at Tera Sapam Leirak area from 6 to 7.50 am Saturday.

During the operation, 130 people including 10 bailouts were verified.

However, there was no report of any arrest made.

On the other hand, a team of Imphal East district police led by DSP commando N Nabakishore conducted search operation at Phaknung Awang Leikai and Mayai Leikai during which 30 bailouts were verified.

But there was no report of any detention or arrest made during the operation, it added.
