RK Anand provides urea fertilizers at subsidized rates to farmers of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC

Imphal, July 13 2021: Former MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC and State Executive member of BJP Manipur Pradesh, RK Anand started provided urea fertilizers to farmers of the constituency at subsidized rates today at his residence at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai.

Coordinating Committee of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC in association with local clubs and ogranisations provided the urea fertilizers to the farmers under the aegis of RK Anand.

A team of the Committee also delivered the fertilizers to the residences of those farmers who could not come to get the fertilizers owing to COVID-19 issues.

As a part of the chain of events under Seva hi Sangathan campaign, the urea fertilizers were provided to farmers at subsidized rates as per the rate fixed by the Government along with some transportation charges.

Speaking on the occasion, RK Anand said that he took up the initiative of providing urea fertilizers to farmers with an aim to alleviate the problems faced by the farmers due to non availability of fertilizers during the sowing season.

Though urea fertilizers are being provided through respective District Agriculture Officers many farmers face various problems to go and get the fertilizers owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic therefore he requested the Government and took up the initiative of providing the fertilizers in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC for the convenience of the farmers, he added.

He continued that the members of BJP Manipur Pradesh Kisan Morcha also supported the initiative majorly.

He maintained that the farmers need to bring the necessary documents like Aadhar card, land patta etc while coming to take the fertilizers and further stated that steps will be taken up to provide urea fertilizers to farmers within the containment zones as well.

Stressing on the major concern of the farmers due to a scanty rainfall this season, he appealed to the Government to work on special measures to provide regular supply of water in paddy fields.

Further he also appealed to take up special measures to provide the urea fertilizers free of cost to the farmers as a one time measure considering the hardships faced by many due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and if possible to provide door to door service to the farmers.

In view of the surge in Covid positive cases and fatalities, he urged all to strictly follow the Covid SOPs and guidelines laid by the Government, to get vaccinated and go through Covid testing to combat the deadly pandemic effectively and also appealed to the health workers to take extra care for Covid positive patients.

Later, continuing the activities of helping the households in containment zones, RK Anand and Coordinating Committee Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC distributed edible items to households in containment zones at Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai, Konjeng Leikai, Langthabal and Mongsangei.
