DM Kangpokpi imposes curfew with limited permitted activities

Kangpokpi, June 12 2021:
With the end of Lockdown-3 imposed by Kangpokpi town civil bodies under the aegis of Kangpokpi Town Committee, the District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner imposed a curfew in Kangpokpi district for 14 days with effect from midnight of June 11 till June 25 .
The curfew order issued by the District Magistrate/DC Kangpokpi stated that given the unrelenting spread of the pandemic in the district it has become expedient to impose further restrictions following the culmination of the local lockdown initiated by various civil bodies with limited permitted activities.
It also stated that there shall be no movement of persons, vehicles, and any business activity except the limited permitted activities.
The exempted activities mentioned in the order are, all departments and institutions like media, power, fire services, PHED, CAFPD, Police, Para-Military, Health, Relief, and Disaster Management, and District Administration.
Vehicle workshops of goods trucks, petrol tankers, LPG Bullet, etc may open from 8:00am to 3:00pm on all days by taking adequate precaution and following necessary protocols.
Grocery shops shall be open from 7:00am to 10:00am every alternate day starting Sunday, June 13.However, shopkeepers should have a fortnightly COVID-19 free certificate from the concerned Medical Officer in charge of the area.
Pharmacies may open regularly as usual with a fortnightly COVID-19 free certificate from the concerned Medical Officer in charge 6f the area.
Banking service with limited staff and petrol pump to remain open.
Meanwhile, COVID Task Force Kangpokpi continued to conduct random mass testing of vegetable sellers, shopkeepers, labourers in collaboration with police personnel of Kangpokpi Police Station.
Around 80 persons were tested at District Hospital by the COVID-19 Testing Team of District Hospital and were all found negative.
Kangpokpi district reported 13 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours taking, the total number of active cases in the district to 90 with 8 persons cured and discharged.
31 persons have succumbed to COVID-19 so far in the district.
Besides, the district Chief Medical Officer in charge Dr Ph Henkhoneng Mate, who is also the District Nodal Officer (Testing) met with the seven COVID Task Force of Kangpokpi AC and discussed various important issues concerning COVID-related preventive measures, vaccination, testing, home isolation, etc.
She also appreciated the commendable support and assistance provided by the COVID Task Force of Kangpokpi AC towards the health workers and conveyed sincere gratitude to the local MLA Nemcha Kipgen for constituting the COVID Task Force in Kangpokpi AC stating that the constitution of COVID Task Force has played a vital role in containing the infection and fatality rate in the constituency in particular and the district as a whole.
She also appealed to the COVID Task Force to continue helping the health workers and the Medical Department apart from the public.
Meanwhile, it was also reported that the district CSO COVID Task Force also extended the lockdown for another week in the district.
