FCI drivers threaten steering off stir

Strongly condemning the abduction of two FCI drivers by unidentified persons from New Kaiphundai, FCI drivers have announced that they will launch steer off agitation until the perpetrators clarify reason for such acts or an understanding is arrived at.
Speaking to media persons at Jiribam Railway station on Saturday, All Jiribam Road Transport Union (AJRTDU) vice president Sanasam Pratap lauded the district police for safely rescuing the two drivers.
The drivers' union will hand over the drivers to their respective families, he added.
The incident has caused fear and apprehension among the drivers.
Moreover, the reason for abduction is not known till now, he said and reiterated that drivers will not take the wheels until motive for the abduction is made known or solution brought.
Pratap also informed that the drivers have parked their vehicles at the railway station as a mark of protest.
A driver questioned how drivers of escorted trucks could be abducted along NH 37 by unknown persons.
The security escort is meant to give protection and security to the drivers.
There is no use of escort if drivers are kidnapped, the driver contended.
