SAKSHAM 2022 campaign begins in state

Imphal, April 11 2022:
SAKSHAM 2022' campaign, which is being organised by public sector oil and gas companies of the state in collaboration with Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the aegis of Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, began in the state with a launch function held at Hotel Nirmala conference hall here on Monday.
Speaking at the launch programme, which will continue till April 30, as chief guest, CAF&PD commissioner Bobby Waikhom informed that India is the third biggest user of petroleum products.
Considering this, SAKSHAM campaign is being launched as a step towards conservation of petroleum products, The aim to conserve energy cannot be achieved without the support of the public, hence, people should be sensitised about the issue with the help of education, information and communication, he added.
Bobby advised that people not to waste fuel while driving and check extra usage of LPG.
More and more renewable energy should be utilised and non-renewable energy should be conserved.
It is a big responsibility of the present generation to conserve energy for future, he further said.
The function was also attended by CAF&PD director Robertson Asem and Oil Industry Manipur state level coordinator RK Mohen.
As part of the event, a message given by Union minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri was read out along with taking pledge of SAKSHAM 2022 .
