Astad Deboo remembered on his death anniv

Imphal, December 10 2021: Shri Shri Govindaji Nata Sankirtana, Wangkhei Palace Compound Imphal observed the first death anniversary of Padmashri award winning contemporary dancer and choreographer Astad Deboo at Ramji Prabhu Mandap, Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, Imphal on Friday.

Art and culture director in-charge L Keshorjit and JN Manipur Dance Academy former pradhan guru S Thanil Sharma (Padmashri) attended the event as chief guest and president respectively.

Spic Macay member Dr L Ibomcha, Deboo's elder sister Kamal Jamshed Anita and younger sister Gulshan Adarbad Deboo were also present at the event as guests of honour.

JNMDA Pung guru Mei-houbam Seityaban spoke on the life and works of Astad Deboo, who took keen interest in promotion of Nata Sankirtana.

Thang-Ta instructor Chingtham Ranjit, Nata Sankirtana instructor Thounaojam Haridas, Gou-ra Leela instructor Rajkumar Sanayaima, Pung instructors RK Heramot and Takhellam-bam Ibomcha were also honoured on the occasion.

Artistes of Shri Shri Gov-indaji Nata Sankirtana presented a Nata Sankirtana performance to mark the event.
