Wabagai-Sugnu road bandh plan suspended

Kakching, November 10 2024: The 48-hour proposed bandh along the Wabagai Lamkhai to Sugnu Road, called by Lamkhai to Sugnu Road (State Highway) Development and Demand Committee (LSR-DDC), has been suspended.

The LSR-DDC had on October 27 announced that the 48-hour bandh effective from November 11 would be enforced to denounce inaction by authorities concerned to repair the road stretch, which has been in a dilapidated condition for years.

In a statement, the Committee informed that the decision to keep in abeyance the bandh plan for the time being was taken after it came to light during an inspection visit on November 8 that repair work had commenced in some portions of the road under Hiyanglam assembly constituency and parts of Sugnu assembly segment.
