AR organises tree plantation drive

Imphal, July 07 2022: Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a mega tree plantation drive to promote afforestation under the theme "Plant a tree, make earth risk free" at Aina in Churachandpur district on Thursday.

While informing that the plantation drive was focused on imbibing the importance of trees and spreading awareness amongst locals and troops on saving earth by planting more trees, PRO IGAR (S) said in a release that the villagers were also briefed on adopting eco-friendly lifestyle so as to contribute towards saving mother earth and promoting cleaner environment.

A total of 200 saplings of fruits, shady and local variety of plants were planted as part of the plantation drive with the participation of around 70 locals.

The local populace also expressed their willingness to work together with Assam Rifles towards a safer, secure and greener environment in future, the PRO said, adding that they expressed gratitude to security forces for conducting such informative and eco-friendly events.
