Imphal, December 06 2021: Two people including a Rohingya woman was arrested By Tulihal Airport police for trying to enter Imphal with fake Aadhaar cards.

The two of them have been remanded to 5-day in police custody for questioning.

The arrested persons have been identified as Janna Tara (18) d/o Hussain Ahmad of Kiara Kutupalong Hakimpara, Bangladesh and Jakir Hussain Sheik (26) s/o Fayaz Sheik of Bidhan Nagar Kolkata.

Janna is said to be from the Rohingya community.

According to a report, Janna landed at Imphal Airport from Kolkata via an Indigo flight on Sunday.

During the verification process for ILP pass, her Aadhaar card was found to be fake.

Tulihal Airport Police informed Singjamei PS, after which a team arrived and arrested Janna Tara.

On questioning, Janna Tara revealed that she came to the state with one Jakir Hussain Sheik, following which Jakir was arrested.

Further questioning revealed that Janna was a Rohingya.

Both of them were produced before CJM Imphal West on Monday, which then remanded them to 5-day in police custody.
