Police urged to nab assaulters

Imphal, December 05 2021:
Janata Dal (United) intending candidate of Wabagai AC Sakir Ahmad has urged the police department to take up necessary action in connection with the alleged assault on his younger brothers in connection with the upcoming polls.
Addressing a press meet held at JD(U) office on Sunday, Sakir Ahmad recalled that he along with his younger brothers went to visit a sick person in Lilong on Saturday around 6pm, when they were threatened at gun point by an INC worker named as Mayangmayum.Nazir.
Not only was their vehicle destroyed, but both his younger brothers, Nisa Ahmad and Junair Ali, were injured.
A report was filed at Mayang Imphal PS.
However, no action has been taken up till date.
As such, he urged the authority concerned to take up necessary action and arrest the person(s) responsible.
Razuddin, one of Sakir Ahmad's supporters, said that election is a beautiful part of democracy and should be done in a free and fair manner.
He then urged against repeating such acts in future and further urged the government to collect all licensed guns during this period.
He also requested the police to arrest the person(s) involved at the earliest.
