Informing that Assam Rifles has successfully trained and motivated 63 youths to join the Indian Army through various schemes, PRO IGAR (S) said an eight-week training capsule for the written tests and physical training was provided at various locations in Churachandpur district for candidates from humble backgrounds and remote villages.
In release, the PRO stated that in continuation its efforts, Assam Rifles conduct ed a felicitation programme Thursday at HQ Veng, Churachandpur district for 32 successful candidates who were selected for the Agniveer recruitment rally 2024 .
The candidates will join Indian Army training programme in the second week of October at various locations across India.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles observed the 155th birth'an-niversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Government High School, Khoibu, in Tengnoupal district on Thursday.
The event promoted Gandhi's values of peace, harmony, and cleanliness, fostering a spirit of unity within the community.
The celebration featured a drawing competition, where students creatively expressed their thoughts on themes of peace and harmony.
Their artistic talents highlighted the importance of these values in the day's event.
A total of 60 students, supported by 6 dedicated teachers, took part in the competition and a joint cleanliness drive, according to the PRO.
