Nupi Shumang Leek Competition "British ki Mayokta Nupishingi Thoudang" staged

Imphal, November 30 2021: Women for Cultural Centre presented the play, "British ki Mayokta Nupisingi Thoudang", which is centred around the events of the 1st Nupi Lai in 1904, on the sixth day of the 1st Nupi Shumang Leela Competition which is going on at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound here on Tuesday.

The play is written by Sou-grakpam Sayarani Devi, while Ningthoujam Sangeeta Devi is the director.

The male characters in the play are portrayed by Uma (Bor Saheb), Asha (Soto Saheb), Tamphamani (Chaoba), Roshmita (Daroga Meino), Inakhunbi (Daroga Mushuk) and Sangita (Mutumsana) .

The female characters are played by Sayarani (Samujaobi), Ashalata (Shyamasakhi), Basanti (Dhaballi), Kananbala (Kwathabi), Yaiphabi (Thambaltombi) and Sunanda (Thambal).

The songs in the play are composed by Aheibam Pameli Devi.
