NYK celebrates 'Diwali with MY Bharat'

Kakching, October 30 2024: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Chandel under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with Japhou Youth Club (JYC) and other stakeholders conducted a cleanliness drive to celebrate 'Diwali with My Bharat-Ye Diwali MY Bharat Ke Saath" from October 27 to Wednesday with an aim to encourage voluntary activities in the district.

The cleanliness drive covered Women's Market, Japhou Bazar, District Council Dispensary and other parts of the main town.

On the occasion, NYK district youth officer Rebecca Rangnamei highlighted the concept of 'Diwali with MY Bharat' and also initiatives under MY Bharat Online platform while JYC general secretary Nicolas Ngoru Monsang highlighted the importance of participation of the youth in keeping the district clean during the festive season, Traffic volunteering under the aegis of Chandel traffic police headed by ASI Th Majairong was also conducted at DC Traffic Junction with active participation of MY Bharat volunteers.

The volunteers were briefed about the traffic rules and regulations along with a hands-on training.
