Imphal, December 29 2024:
Accusing central security forces deployed in the state of being biased, Ku-ki-Zo Council has criticised the forces for focusing their operations in Kuki-Zo areas, and punishing the victims instead of taking action against perpetrators of violence.
In a release, the Council also condemned alleged attacks on Kuki-Zo communities, particularly in the Saibol-Twichin area by Meetei insurgents, Arambai Tenggol and police commandos.
The calculated attempt to undermine the safety, security, and dignity of the Kuki-Zo people, particularly during Christmas is not only a blatant disregard for the lives and well-being of the Kuki-Zo community but is a case of religious oppression of the minority Christian community, the Council claimed.
It called for a befitting response from the central government to ensure safety, security, and dignity of the Kuki-Zo people.
