Churachandpur, June 25 2021:
The residents of Tangnuam village have urged chief minister N Biren Singh and Churachandpur district in-charge minister Vungzagin Valte to take up development programmes in their village, saying that Tangnuam is one of the oldest villages in the district but it has always been bypassed by development initiatives of the state government.
Even after more than 75 years of its existence, no steps have ever been initiated by the state government for development of Tangnuam village, which has no proper road worthy of the name and none of the villagers benefitted from the welfare schemes introduced by the government.
Tangnuam falls under Saikot assembly constituency and the village has around 271 houses with a population of about 2000 people.
Despite being one of the oldest villages in Churachandpur, Tangnuam's road has never been black topped over the years but visible development works could be seen in the neighbouring village and this prompted Tangnuam residents to question the authorities as to why they have been deprived of such amenity for so long.
