Imphal, September 24 2023:
The 25 volunteers of Youth of Manipur (YOM), who left for Delhi on Saturday, met with an MP and 24 MLAs from Manipur currently at the national capital, at Manipur Bhawan on Sunday.
However, no solution could be reached as the chief minister was not present.
As such, YOM has requested the chief minister and all ruling and opposition MLAs in Manipur to come to Delhi at the earliest.
In a post uploaded on their social media, a YOM volunteer said that the volunteers met the ruling MLAs of Manipur, currently in Delhi, on Sunday and discussed various agendas.
However, the MLAs informed that they could not bring a solution to the agendas without chief minister N Biren.
As such, the volunteers requested the MLAs in Delhi to call the CM to Delhi.
Urging MPs and MLAs of both the ruling and opposition parties to uphold their responsibilities as elected representatives and save Manipur, the post stated that the YOM volunteers will not return to Manipur until the requested MPs and MLAs come to Delhi and help bring about a collective solution.
The volunteers also declared to join hands with the youth in Manipur, mothers and local clubs to take up requisite actions, the preparation of which is already finished.
On the other hand, the MLAs in Delhi also met with the members of Delhi Meetei Council and discussed various issues concerning the on-going conflict in Manipur as more ruling MLAs and ministers have begun rushing to Delhi.
Regarding the appointment request with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the PMO informed the MLAs to meet union home minister Amit Shah instead.
As such, the MLAs are waiting to meet the union home minister in groups, a source conveyed.
