Three day extensive tour off Seva Hi Sangathan Phase-IF concludes

Imphal, June 22 2021: The 3 day extensive tour of 'Seva Hi Sangathan Phase II' organised by former Deputy speaker Manipur Legislative Assembly and ex-MLA 45-Chingai AC, Mk Preshow Shimray along with Chingai Mandal BJP President, Bejoy Shatsang; Youth Team and Party workers to commemorate the 7 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA Government concluded yesterday.

The extensive tour began from the western villages under Chingai AC - Ringui, Sirarakhong, Teinem, Phalee, Somdal and Talui on June 19, said a statement from the Media & Communication Office of Mk Preshow Shimray.

On the first day of the tour, Mk Preshow Shimray and family donated two oxygen concentrators of 10L & 7L each and two D Type oxygen cylinder each to Somdal PHC & Talui PHC along with face masks, hand sanitizers, PPEs, oximeters and medicines.

A financial assistance of Rs 10,000 was also provided to Somdal and Talui covid-19 Management Committee and Rs 5,000 to all other villages, it added.

It may be noted that considering the hardships faced by western tangkhul villages, Mk Preshow Shimray during his tenure as MLA initiated the upgradation of these two PHCs to CHCs (Community Health Centre) to cater all the medical care and emergency cases of the area.

Mk Preshow Shimray while interacting with the Village Councils of Somdal and Talui mentioned that it is a great loss and tragedy that the present MLA has laid the foundation in July 2018 with much fanfare and celebrations in the presence of all neighbouring village chiefs and then Health Minister, L Jayenta Kumar Singh, yet not a single upgradation on infrastructure, medical equipment and medical staff required for a CHC was not seen during the visit.

Two Health Ministers have come and gone yet nothing has taken place.

The upgradation is only on paper, he added.

Mk Preshow Shimray also assured the villagers that the Chief Minister would be apprised of the matter at the earliest.

On the second day of the tour, the team started from Nungbi Khullen and went to Chingai PHC & Marem village, then to Razai-Kharasom and finally to Jessami village, the northernmost village under Chingai AC, it added.

During the visit, Mk Preshow Shimray and family donated one oxygen concentrator each to Chingai PHC and Jessami PHC along with three D type cylinders to both the PHCs.

A monetary aid of Rs 10,000 each was also provided to Chingai and Jessami.

He also donated face masks, sanitizers, PPEs, oximeters and medicines along with a financial aid of Rs 5,000 to all the villages.

During the visit, Mk Preshow Shimray highlighted the various initiatives and efforts of the State Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh especially during the pandemic.

He also extended his appreciation to the Chief Minister for giving equal resources and support to the hill people of the State.

Mk Preshow Shimray further appealed to all the villages under 45- Chingai AC to get vaccinated at the earliest and provide their assistance in the fight against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.
