Meritorious Vaiphei students feted

Kangpokpi, October 18 2021: Zillai (Vaiphei Students' Association), Kangpokpi Block felicitated as many as 143 meritorious Vaiphei students during its 'Meritorious Award cum Get Together' programme held at South Changoubung village in Kangpokpi district.

The event was attended by Rev Thangboi David as blessing minister while Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council CEO James Doujapao Haokip, Kangpokpi additional SP (L&O) Thangkhochon Haokip were present as resource persons.

In all, 46 students of Class X, 40 students of Class XII, 50 graduate and post-graduates and 3 theologians were awarded on the occasion.

Rev Thangboi David exhorted the students and offered a blessing prayer for the meritorious students while motivating the others to put in more effort in their studies.

Hauneilal Vaiphei, president of Vaiphei People's Council GHQ, while exhorting the Vaiphei community to give more emphasis on education of their children prayed for the community during the occasion.

Apart from various other community leaders, representatives from Vaiphei People s Council GHQ and its unit, ZillaiGHQ, Zillai Kangpokpi District, VLS, ATSUM, ZSF, village chiefs, youth clubs, and church leaders also attended the event.

A cultural dance was also performed by Zillai students.
