Anti-drug abuse training prog held

As a part of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan campaign, DSWO Bishnupur, SUA, SLCA, MOSJE and NLSD organised one day training programme on Training of trainer (TOT) for volunteers' at Keinou Thongkha community hall on Thursday.
The programme was attended Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) chairperson Keisham Pradipkumar, DSWO Bishnupur N Jotish, District Sports Association Bishnupur president L Naba and SLCA Manipur director Dr A Jayantakumar as presidium members.
Speaking at the programme, Keisham Pradipkumar pointed out that the central government with an objective to save the youth from drugs and substance abuse launched Nasha Mukta Bharat campaign across 272 districts of the country.
The programme is a part of the campaign aimed at saving youngsters of Manipur from the menace of drugs, he added.
Expressing concern over increase in number of drug users since outbreak of the ongoing conflict, he noted that wi4espread poppy cultivation, existence of illegal drug factories, and easy access to drugs in Manipur are some factors for the alarming rise in substance abuse.
Moreover, one of the reasons for conflict is poppy cultivation, he added.
