Reacting to reports published in some local dailies and electronic media on January 13 regarding disengagement of 10 staff, Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) has clarified that the said staff members were disengaged as per the instruction of the government order issued on January 6.In a statement issued Saturday, MSCW chairperson in-charge Thumlip Tiningpham Mosang claimed that the state government took up the step of disengaging them in order to streamline irregularities in the Commission.
The said 10 staff members enlisted in different nomenclature by the then MSCW chairperson were disengaged as their engagement was found to be invalid, it added.
The statement also pointed out that the mandatory formalities like approvals for hiring the 10 staff in the Commission were not taken from the state government DPC, at the time of their engagement.
Moreover, there are no posts created in the Commission such as senior technical assistant cum PS to the chairperson, programme officer, accountant (i/c), field assistant, etc.
Remuneration given to them was also not in consonance with the state Finance Department (PIC) and many irregularities were found while engaging them, it further explained.
