6 found COVID-19 positive in mass testing at Apfii Saliki Senapati

Senapati, June 12 2021:
The Mass Covid-19 testing especially for shopkeepers, taxi/auto rickshaw drivers and public that began on June 9 concluded today at Apfii Saliki (Senapati Women Market).
The mass Covid testing was reportedly carried out in preparation for gradual relaxation of containment measures from June 14, subject to new SOP of the Government in this regard.
The district DC had earlier ordered for the same.
The last day of the mass testing recorded 6 positive cases out of 189 persons tested for Covid-19 .
Altogether, 963 persons were tested out of which 19 positive cases were detected since June 9 last with a positivity rate of 1.97 percent.
It may be mentioned that the Karong Senapati Town Committee (KSTC) had earlier issued a notice to all concerned that any individual failing to comply with the order and without negative report would not be permitted to operate their business within the town.
Covishield vaccination had been administered to most of the shopkeepers, taxi/auto drivers and the general populace over the past couple of weeks.
According to a report received from the District Health Society, Senapati, it is reported that mass testing for Covid-19 is reportedly going on at village level since the past few days.
It is also reported that mass testing had already been carried out at Tadubi area and Maram area while mass testing began today for Lairouching area.
The medical team has been prepared to visit any village in the district as per the request of concerned SDO or village authorities.
Meanwhile, the persons who were tested COVID-19 positive during the mass testing were reportedly sent for Home Isolation after giving proper advice while maintaining SOPs.
