DESAM slams BoSEM failure to announce HSLC exam centres

Imphal, February 11 2025: While noting that the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination-2025 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM) will commence from February 19, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has criticised the Board for its failure to announce the examination centres as on date.

In a release, DESAM secretary general Thoithoiba claimed that during an investigation carried out to determine the reason for BoSEM's inability to finalise the examination centres, which is a normal process, it came to light that the prime factor was due to delay in taking approval of the government.

Expressing grave concern over such an unwarranted procedural delay, the secretary stressed that as BoSEM is an autonomous body there is no valid reason to seek approval from the government but to exercise the powers entrusted to the Board when it concerns welfare and interest of the students.

Pointing out that failure to announce the examination centres is creating apprehension and anxiety among the student candidates, Thoithoiba urged the chief secretary to look into the matter and announce the examination centre within February 12 .
