Imphal, November 10 2024: A total of 20 volunteers including family members of (late) Moirangthem Pishak and Tombi of Uchekon Khunou Takhok Mapal in Imphal East district, donated blood at RIMS Department of Transfusion Medicine on Saturdayin memory of the deceased parents.

The camp was organised by family members of Pishak and Tombi in collaboration with Life Saver Manipur, State Blood Cell, National Health Mission Manipur, SBTC Manipur, HDFC Bank Imphal and RIMS transfusion medicine.

Speaking on the side-lines, Life Saver managing director K Padama Kumar explained that donating blood on regular basis does not harm the human body in any way but improves overall health of the donor, and urged the public to donate blood so as to save precious lives.

According to Pishak's son Jiban, the donation camp was organised to help address shortage of blood in healthcare facilities, one of the reasons for loss of precious lives in emergency situation.
