2 suspected KNLA cadres apprehended

Imphal, June 10 2021:
Two persons (including one with bullet injury) suspected to be Kuki National Liberation Army (KNLA) cadres were apprehended yesterday by a combined team of Army and Assam Rifles from a location in between K Hengjang and NP Khollen villages within Kangpokpi district.
According to a source, they were caught yesterday by a team of 21 Para Special Force and 16 Assam Rifles while they were conducting surveillance as a part of an operation underway since June 7 at the area.
The persons identified as Kamjagin Kipgen (26) of Gamnom village in Kangpokpi district and Lalminthang Haokip (19) of Paikholum village in Churachandpur district have been handed over to Thoubal Dam police station, said the source.
The source further hinted that Lalminthang must have sustained bullet injury during gunfight with 21 Para SF on June 8 at K Hengjang after an operation was launched on June 7 .
16 AR joined the operation later, the source said.
It is further said that Para SF had also detected and demolished a makeshift camp in a dense forest part of K Hengjang.
Tents, utensils, clothes, huts and medicines were also detected at the camp site, the source added.
