Trees planted, yoga sessions held

Imphal, June 09 2022: In connection with observance of Environment Week and continuing with its tree plantation drive, Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a tree plantation drive in Imphal West district on Thursday.

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that a team of Assam Rifles troops distributed and planted around 500 saplings of multiple varieties at villages adjoining Keithelmanbi Garrison so as to achieve dual purpose of environment protection and soil conservation.

On the other-hand, Mantripukhri Battalion conducted a yoga session to commemorate the 8th International Day of Yoga, 2022 at DAV Public School, Sangakpham Bazar in Imphal East on Thursday.

According to the PRO, the event organised to spread awareness and benefits of yoga was attended by a total of 350 students and school staff.

The school management committee appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles in promoting yoga in the school.

Meanwhile, Phundrei Battalion organised a musical and cultural programme of yoga as a part of International Day of Yoga at Kakching to encourage troops to inculcate yoga practice in their lifestyle.
