Open debate competition held

Imphal, January 09 2025:
An open debate competition was organised by Coordinating Committee on Crisis Resolution Manipur (CCCRM) on the topic 'President's Rule in Manipur Will Not Resolve the Ongoing Crisis' at Manipur Press Club on Thursday.
The competition was participated by 17 debaters with senior advocate Khaidem Mani acting as speaker.
Speaking at the opening of the competition, CCCRM convener O Sanahanbi stated that even after almost two years of prevailing turmoil in the state, the state government has failed to resolve the issue, calling it a matter of grave concern.
She also claimed that the situation has come to such a pass that there apparently is none to stop the attacks on Meetei community, with the present government remaining inert and powerless.
Regarding the debate competition, Sanahanbi revealed that it was organised to help the public analyse the pros and cons of imposing PR in the state in view of misgovernance of the present government.
