Assam Rifles provides medical aid, plants trees

Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) on Saturday provided critical medical first aid to one Hormaion (52) of Shangshak village, who is suffering from cancer and kidney problem.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the woman was immediately given medical attention by unit medical representatives and administered with glucose drips, blood Pressure and heart rate monitored and stabilised with medication.
While informing that village authorities and her immediate family members were intimated about her condition with the recommendation for proper care and due medication at JNIMS, Imphal, the PRO said the prompt assistance provided by the Assam Rifles was much appreciated by her family members.
Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles organised an interaction cum mass tree plantation drive at Shangshak village, Ukhrul district on October 6 during which the participants planted tree saplings, helping in revitalising ecosystem.
A total of 600 saplings of varied trees were planted at Shangshak.
The event focussed on imbibing the importance of trees and spreading awareness amongst the locals about harmful effects of cutting trees and saving earth by planting more trees, added the PRO in another release.
