KVK, Chandel fetes DFI farmers

Imphal, August 06 2024: A felicitation programme for Double Farmer Income (DFI) farmers under Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare was organised at the conference hall of ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Chandel, Monsang Pantha on Tuesday.

The programme was attended by Chandel district agriculture officer Ts Gladney Monsang; ICDS Project, Chandel supervisor Ts Hringnary Anal; and KVK, Chandel head Dr A Ameeta Devi as chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.

The DFI project, initiated by the central government in February 2016 to double the income of farmers by 2022 is being implemented through a multi-faceted approach focusing on productivity, efficiency, diversification, and fair pricing.

It represents a comprehensive effort to transform Indian agriculture and improve the livelihoods of farmers.

KVK, Chandel also informed that certificates were distributed to the DPI farmers during the programme also attended by KVK, Chandel SMS (Home Science) Dr Y Prabhabati Devi, SMS (Agronomy) Dr Kl Levish, SMS (Plant Breeding) Ts Leenda Monsarig, SMS (Agriculture Engineering) Dr K Sonamani Singh, SMS (Horticulture) Ps Lavid Anal, staff and 98 farmers.
