Imphal, December 05 2024:
Raising demand to fill the vacant post of Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM), student volunteers of Federal Students Organisation Kangleipak (FESOK) stormed the board's office today.
The post of the Chairman of BOSEM is lying vacant since November 20, 2024.Led by its president Kangujam Amarjit, FESOK volunteers marched towards the office of the BOSEM at Babupara at around 11 am.
Initially, Imphal West police blocked the students at BOSEM gate and allowed 5 representatives to meet Secretary in-charge of the board.
The meeting, however, yielded no positive results and with FESOK demanding an immediate appointment of a Chairman, volunteers stormed the office in a bid to lock it.
The confrontation then broke out between the volunteers and the police.
Police reinforcements led by IGP Themthing Ngashangva rushed to the spot and dispersed the student volunteers.
Notably, FESOK has been demanding the Government and authorities concerned to fill the vacant post of Chairman of BOSEM before HSCLE 2024 .
