DESAM organises painting competition

Imphal, June 05 2022: Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Imphal West District Council organised the 2nd District Level Painting Competition on the theme of 'Sustainable Development Through Environmental Protection' at Manipur College here Sunday.

In all, 1336 students participated in the competition which was conducted in two categories.

In Category A, 942 students studying in Class III-VI competed, wherein Class V student Sharungbam Kundan Singh of Little Master English Higher Secondary School bagged the first prize while Class VI student Vishudra Laishram of Pitambara English School and Class VI student Kh Chaorembam Singh of Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1 Lamphel won second and third prize respectively.

In Category B, 394 students studying in Class VII-X took part in the competition, in which Class X student Yaikhombi Loitongbam of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.l Lamphel, Class VII student Laishram Kalpita Devi of Irom Meijrao High School and Class X student Presila Heikrujam of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.l Lamphel secured first, second and third place respectively.

The Special Prize was awarded to Class VI student Kelvin Elangbam of Pitambara English School.

Meanwhile, a Children Art Work Exhibition cum prize distribution function will be organised at GP Women's College on June 11, a release informed.
