Bodies condemn police excess on IDPs

Imphal, August 04 2024: Nupi Samaj advisor Kh Indu condemned police excesses during the rally organised by displaced people taking shelter in relief camps and assault on scribe.

In a press conference jointly organised by Nupi Samaj, Tammi Chingmi and ICHAL at the Nupi Samaj office, Lamphelpat on Sunday, Indu said that the government should sympathise with plight and condition of the people putting up in relief camps.

Denouncing police brutalities on the rally conducted by internally displaced persons (LDP) airing their grievances to the government, she demanded conduct of enquiry regarding the matter.

Lauding suspension of the SI involved in assaulting a media person during the rally, she urged the government to pass a resolution in the assembly for resettlement of the displaced people to their respective homes.
