Thoubal, May 03 2023: With an aim to provide legal aid services for the weaker sections of the society, a Legal Aid Defence Counsel System (LADCS) has been opened at Thoubal Court complex, on Wednesday.

The inauguration function jointly organised by Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Thoubal was attended by High Court of Manipur acting Chief Justice MV Muralidaran, justice A Bimol Singh and justice A Guneshwar Sharma.

Speaking at the event, Justice Bimol explained that the LADCS, Thoubal will provide necessary legal services related with criminal cases to the clients who are not in a position to hire their own lawyers.

Such offices are opened under the new scheme of the National Legal Services Authority.

The function was also attended by members of Thoubal District BAR Association and Manipur BAR Association.
